Hi,
I know there is a ferry that is going from Maui to Oahu but how far is from where ferry is at to Pearl Harbor?? do I need to have a car to get there? thanks

Ferry from Maui to Oahu
You%26#39;ll need a car to get to Pearl Harbor unless you can find a tour that will pick you up at the pier. You should know that the ferry has been somewhat unreliable. They tend to cancel trips due to rough seas, and if you%26#39;re scheduled for one of those you%26#39;re out of luck.
Ferry from Maui to Oahu
You are much better off taking a flight from Maui to Oahu.
Many of the car rental agencies are at the airport or close by. None are at the Superferry landing.
Superferry has canceled many of its scheduled trips the past month. Those that were not canceled only had about 1/3 of its anticipated passengers.
Don%26#39;t count on it to be running on any date. Don%26#39;t count on it to be in Hawaii very long.
You do not need a car to get from airport to USS Arizona Memorial parking lot. The city bus only takes about 10 minutes. A cab is about $10. Or you can rent a car %26amp; see much of Oahu in a day.
The Bus route #20 goes from right in front of the Nimitz Highway frontage at the Ferry Terminal pier to the Arizona Memorial....
For the terminal location see:
hawaiisuperferry.com/travel-information/…
For the bus route see:
www.thebus.org/Route/Maps/rm8-19-20.pdf
You will have to cross Nimitz (a divided roadway with buildings between the two one-way sections) to reach a stop on the West/Ewa bound lanes towards Pearl Harbor.
According to the bus schedule, the trip should take about 30 to 40 minutes.
The biggest obstacle will be to make it to the memorial in time following landing; it closes at 5 PM. The Maui-Oahu run is scheduled to make port at 2:15, so figure at the verrrrry best you could make it to the memorial sometime after three or so.
If the arrival is delayed at all, it could be quite close or allow nominal time to pay your respects.
Plus, one never knows how crowded the memorial will be on any day. Sometimes they fill all the tour spaces for an afternoon long before when you would be arriving; so there is some (though minimal) risk of disappointment even if you can get there on time.
Thank you all for the helpful information
Amanda
I would also like to point out that there are no return ferry trip from Oahu to Maui on that same day. Morning ferry from Oahu to Maui, then afternoon Maui to Oahu.
Check out the superferry schedule on their website.
I agree with dusy and yung. Take a flight for guaranteed travel. Plus it makes for a much shorter trip.
Absolutely, take a flight, I read a story in the Honolulu Newspaper last week, about the Ferry being very unreliable, besides, the air fare is so cheap. You can take the Bus to Pearl Harbor,it is easy, cheap.
Even more Superferry trips canceled February 13 to March 2:
