My boyfriend and I are planning to be in Kauai between March 22 till March 27. We%26#39;re staying at the Marriott Kauai in Lihue. This is the itinerary that I thinking of going by. We%26#39;re both the kind of people who like to be out exploring and making the most of our trip. We have read the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook. So if you have any suggestions, we%26#39;re both open to them. Mahalo!
Saturday, March 22-
-Arrive in Lihue at 12:15 pm.
-Pick-up rental car and check in to/drop off luggage at the Marriott.
-Have lunch and buy necessities (Costco? and K-mart/Walmart?)
-Explore East Kauai: Wailua and Opaekaa Falls and rent snorkel gear (any suggestions?)
Sunday, March 23 (Easter)-
-Morning-Drive out to Waimea Canyon
-Afternoon-Explore South Kauai: Spouting Horn, Poipu
Monday, March 24-
-Morning-Drive to North Kauai: Snorkel at either Ke%26#39;e Beach or Tunnels, visit Hanalei
-Afternoon-Princeville Zipline
Tuesday, March 25-

-Afternoon-Massage at the Anara Spa at the Hyatt
*Is the snorkeling better from shore or through the Na Pali boat tours. Na Pali during the day vs. Na Pali at sunset?
Wednesday, March 26-
Last full day! Thinking of catching up relaxing, shopping, visiting the Allerton Gardens (is it worth the $$), and how I can be on vacation forever.
Thursday, March 27-Depart at 10:35 am
March 22-March 27 Itinerarywhich marriott are you staying at? we are checking into the one in lihue on the 22nd.
March 22-March 27 ItineraryWe%26#39;re staying at the Lihue Marriott.
Can you snorkel on the north side in March? I only ask because everything I read says it%26#39;s still considered winter and you need to snorkel on the south side. We%26#39;re going in early April and as much as I%26#39;d like to snorkel the north side I got the impression that it%26#39;s not a good idea that time of the year.
Hey you guys - we are checking OUT on March 22nd ;-)
If you see a man, woman %26amp; 20-year old guy in the Marriott looking very sad - it will be us checking out and going home to NJ. :-(
Check out this website on sea conditions and surf trends in Kauai:

Snorkling Ke%26#39;e or Tunnels in March may be dicy. It will depend on the conditions at the time but it%26#39;s normally not recommended. You might consider heading downto Poipu for snorkling instead.
And Yes, the tour at Allerton is great. We have not done it in a few years but we have always enjoyed the tour.
gracieblu ~
You asked about visiting the botanical gardens and if it was worth it ~~ I asked the same question a few days ago and got a response that it was a really cool tour and worth the $40/person. I know that will definately be cheaper than many of the acitivities on Kauai -- but I wondered if it was worth the time, etc. It seems like everyone pretty much enjoys it ~ so I think we%26#39;ll add it to our list as well!
