Best travel site for airline tickets.

Which does everyone use? My experience has been to use bookingbuddy and priceline always has the best flight prices I can find? What sites do you use besides the obvious(and in my experience more expensive) like orbits,travelocity and directly through the airlines themselves?

Directly through the airline (which is cheaper than Orbitz etc which tack on a $10 or so fee) or with a package deal such as Plesant Holidays. It all depends on how far out you book. There are a limited number of cheap seats per flight and in order to secure one you need to book way out. Doing so lately has locked you in before any price increases due to fuel costs.

I would rather a for sure ticket in hand than save a few bucks but that is just me. Kind of hard to plan an entire vacation if you don%26#39;t have your arrival and departure locked in.

i generally book thru the airline ---- we did use www.airtohawaii.com once and saved a lot of money over the airline price but that was about 4 yrs ago

Directly thru the airline. More flexibility in case they change schedules; if they drop the fare get tehm to reprice the ticket and take the diff in 1-yr vouchers.

Iususally check a site like kayak.com, they scan many airlines,other sites, and lists them-they give you an option of booking directly through the airlines.

It varies so much for me. I will check Orbitz/Expedia, then open another browser and get a cheaper fare on the airline site. But, the trip I booked last week on Expedia was about $72 less than the airline quote.

One advantage of booking directly through the airline is seat selection. We found if we book through Orbitz or Expedia, we don%26#39;t have as much flexibility to change our seats. One time we did not even get assigned seats until we got to the airport and the agent had to bribe someone so we could sit together. That was a little annoying. But, it is really a game trying to get the best fares on any given day.

I have been watching flight prices for several weeks for a Sept trip so we are pretty far out. The airline websites themselves have been consistently more expensive (unless you have a frequent flyer program with that particular airline). I also checked with AAA, which was about $350 more expensive!

I have found my best prices on hotwire, cheaptickets %26amp; priceling by far. Travelocity is the next closest. A friend just flew to Hawaii last week on an airfare she bought last minute to Oahu. Cheaptickets gave her the best price.

Go to the flight section on the left side of your Tripadvisor page. They will give you a good choice of websites to research.

Good points, especially seat selection, best price and flexibility. It also depends on who you are traveling with on the trip. Family or young, old, guys, gals, and other ways of evaluating a particular trip.

We have some young relatives that are married without kids who travel sometimes on standby.

Thank you!!!! We booked our condo for Sept a week(ish) ago and are looking for flights. I was actually going to book flights/car yesterday and when I called my wife to confirm they went up $70 so I tried to book even though I had the window open and it still closed me down so we are still waiting.

I was just curious how everyone booked theirs, hoping for a better mousetrip. I also posted the same question on the Las Vegas forum hoping that the ';gamblers'; had some ideas.

The other advantage to doing this is it keeps us in touch with Maui,especially when it is -16 outside...
