Romantic breakfast at Westin Maui at sunrise -worth it?

I%26#39;m standing up in a wedding this weekend and the couple are staying at the Westin Maui on their honeymoon for a week. I want to give a unique gift and have been trying to think of gift ideas, and I saw on the Westin%26#39;s website that there is a private breakfast where couples can watch the sunrise, eat breakfast, and drink champagne. The site says that space is very limited and the cost is $180/couple. This will be a gift from two people, so I%26#39;m OK with paying for that, but I%26#39;m curious if anyone has heard of or done this breakfast. Any help or suggestions on other stuff they could do at the hotel that we can give to them as a gift is greatly appreciated!

Who is up at sunrise on their honeymoon? Actually that breakfast would mean they have to get up prior to sunrise.

I think it%26#39;d be better to get them a sunSET dinner in Lahaina, preferably at Kimo%26#39;s... or a really nice dinner at David Paul%26#39;s Lahaina Grill (not on the ocean but just off it, food is A+++++++). If you want recommendations for where they are staying, and if they like spa/massages then I%26#39;d recommend that instead of the sunrise breakfast.

Actually, if they are morning people AND coming from a time zone with a difference of 5 hours, they may just very well be able to get up pretty easily. We%26#39;re always up by around 4:30am the first few days there and we%26#39;re only coming from a 3 hour time difference.

I think it sounds like a really special gift.

It would be hard to see the sun rise from the Westin. It is in west Maui. The sun will be raising over Haleakala, so it would be awhile after it actually rises before they see it. How about a couple%26#39;s message. Do they do that at the Westin? Or a bottle of champagne and some chocolate dipped strawberries?

Thanks, Trixee!!! They%26#39;re coming from Chicago so it%26#39;s a five-hour time difference, and they%26#39;re definitely morning people. So I%26#39;ll definitely think about this and call tonight....I just think it sounds so fun and romantic.

Food at the Westin Maui is not the best. For that kind of money, I would buy them dinner at Mama%26#39;s ... or one of the upscale restaurants in Lahaina or Kapanlua/Napili. Or buy them a cruise to Lanai!

And yes ... they would be looking the wrong direction.

Actally, the breakfast at the Tropica in Westun Maui is pretty good. You may not see the sunrise-but sitting at water%26#39;sedge,watching the waves is rather nice-the service is always great there too.

Yeah had not thought about that, Westin Ka%26#39;anapali would be one of the last places on the island to actually see the sunrise... by the time it got up %26amp; over the west Maui mountains it%26#39;d be closer to 9:30-10AM.
