How close is Safeway for groeries to Resort Quest Kaanapali Shores? I%26#39;ve been told to stop and get groceries etc at Walmart Kmart or Safeway before going to condo. I%26#39;ve also read that alot of condos have some things for you like paper towel, cooler to use etc. I don%26#39;t want to stop and buy things we don%26#39;t need, but don%26#39;t want to have to drive 1 hr back to get them. Thanks.

There is a Star Market grocery store right where you turn to go the the Kaanapali Shores.

One note on what the condo provides: if you%26#39;re staying for say more than 4 / 5 days, you might need to buy necessities also. Our condo at The Mahana did provide 1 roll of paper towels, a 1 use Tide for the washer, etc. but if you need more - you%26#39;ll have to buy it ( I believe they do provide TP though). We ended up needing 2 more Tides as we had LOTS of laundry after Oahu! Also, our condo did provide a styrofoam cooler but it looked kind of moldy, so we splurged and went out %26amp; bought a new one (just a few bucks at Safeway / Star Market).

Good point made by ZMonster! The last condo I stayed in already had a beach chair %26amp; umbrella, and boogie board in the closet. I was fortunate enough to check in and peruse the unit. (Not smart thinking, just turned out that way!)

Then, I went out buying food etc (and check all the kitchen items too, so you don%26#39;t buy more can openers or other things).

You might even find you a leftover Stephen King novel that you haven%26#39;t read! (You know everyone, then late night creatures crawling on the condo lanai walls, look a little more spooky after reading that SK tale.....ain%26#39;t that right MegaMike?)

Wal Mart and K Mart are by the airport. There is a Safeway in Lahaina at the Lahaina Cannery Mall. Also a Longs. Star Market is a grocery store very near to where you will be staying.

While the Safeway is about 15 or so miles away ... it is in the middle of Lahaina activity. Fun stuff at the Cannery. And if you have a Safeway card, bring it. If not, tell someone you want to sign-up. The discounts are pretty good.

You don%26#39;t need your Safeway card, just use the phone number you used to set up the account.

I bring laundry detergent from home, how sad is that? But you don%26#39;t need a big box of it! Those tablet type are perfect, just be sure to pack them in a zip loc bag as they do disinigrate sometimes in travel.

I think that BLBL meant to say that the Safeway is about 15 minutes away, not 15 miles.
