I didn%26#39;t realize until tonight that there%26#39;s a kayak rental at Kawaihae small boat harbor. People often ask where else they can kayak besides Kealakekua.
If the ocean is calm, as it was today, you can hug the leeward North Kohala coast above Kawaihae. Be aware it gets rough if you go too far north, certainly if you were to go around the point towards Upolu, but I imagine the kayak rental place can advise on that ...
