I need some help !

The first week of October, I hope to be on beautiful Oahu and here is my problem. I have read all these posts about not leaving anything inside of your car while you are out, but, we have to check out at noon and our flight doesn%26#39;t leave until 10:30. What should I do that day for entertainment or do with all of our stuff ? Thanks for any and all suggestions..........

I need some help !

This happened with our plans last April. Our hotel was happy to hold our luggage in a secured area. They even offered us a hospitality room in case we visited the beach, and needed to shower and change. Instead, we spent a leisurely day, having breakfast, then visiting the Honolulu Academy of Arts. We had to return our car by 6 and not get charged for an extra day, and ate dinner at the airport. Dusty has also posted info on a new baggage holding service at the airport; do a search of these boards to find it. Aloha!

Where are you staying? Hotel in Waikiki? If in a hotel, call the hotel in advance to see if you can leave your baggage in the concierge%26#39;s care. Many hotels have a room set aside that the concierge uses just for this purpose. Don%26#39;t forget to tip for this service. Some hotels even have a room (or two) set aside where guests who have late departure flights can shower and change in case they want to spend that last day on the beach. The call won%26#39;t hurt and it might solve your problem so that you can go ahead and make plans and won%26#39;t have to worry. Once you%26#39;re on Oahu, you%26#39;ll see that there%26#39;re plenty of things to do that last day. Pick a couple that you think will fill the amount of time you have and purposely skip them during your stay, saving them for that last day. And don%26#39;t be tempted to leave your stuff in the car, even in the trunk... Aloha!

As others have said, you can probably leave your things at the hotel.

I don%26#39;t recommend leaving things in the car, but many have done so including some of my friends %26amp; family.

If you leave things in the trunk, do not open the trunk while you are at destinations until you are ready to leave the destination. Thieves will watch for people transferring things to the trunk or holding things in the air %26amp; trying to hide them under the seat. Once the thieves have seen valuable items, its theirs as soon as you walk away. Thieves will generally just target the cars when they know valuables are in the car.

Downtown Honolulu is fairly safe. So is Waikiki parking at the zoo lot. So is Pearl Harbor. Some of the beaches are also safe.

I don%26#39;t know if I would use the baggage storage company. Maybe if I had some really valuable things (which I don%26#39;t take with me when I travel). $25 isn%26#39;t too bad a price. But its a little extra to pick your bags up from Waikiki. Also extra after 6pm if you want your bags delivered to the airport or pick them up from the warehouse.
