We are looking at the Westin Villa%26#39;s and have read somewhere to pick the south tower. IS there anything else I should know about the property, and insight or advice?
Westin Villa's Kaanapali - Anything I Should Know About It?
You will have to share space with the enormous amount of people brought in for timeshare presentations.Complete lack of interest on the part of the front desk and management to listen to customer concerns and do something about it.You may not like the room you are assigned to but don%26#39;t waste your time asking for the location you were originally promised. They will always tell you that they are ';full';.Beware of glowing reports from owners who have been duped into paying ridiculously high purchase prices and are now stuck with growing maintenance fees. They have to put a positive spin on everything to be able to rent them out.
You could be in a concrete building anywhere. This is not Hawaii!
Westin Villa's Kaanapali - Anything I Should Know About It?
Travelshan,
Don%26#39;t listen to quiet pro. Go look at all of his posts all he does is bash the villas. I on the otherhand who have owned for five yrs have always been truthful. Go look at my past posts. First off the construction is done so you won%26#39;t have the same problems he had but since you are not an owner you will not get the best views. This is a timeshare first which means the owners get priority. It is a GREAT property and has one of the best snorkelling beaches in maui. This is very much a family hotel so there are alot of kids around. Not sure if you are looking for a family place or romance.
This is a great property but you want the North villas they are newer.
As I said,
Beware of reviews from owners, relatives of owners, and';friends'; of owners.Unless you belong to this group-----???
This is your holiday, you have worked hard to save money for this. You don%26#39;t need to feel ripped off. There are so many other places that will give you the true aloha feeling.
As a vacationer you don%26#39;t have to make a business decision and the Westin Villa%26#39;s Kaanapali is all about business.
But anyway, you will be in Hawaii so what can be better than that!Enjoy your trip your way no matter where you stay. Aloha.
I agree with soooo many of the good dishonest posts on TA on those ripoff villas that i gave them my reservation in september of 07 for my upcomming July 08 trip.Damn those beautiful grounds, great poolside,
Gym ,shuttle to whalers village, the BBQ grills, the first class service and lets not forget those reviews by goldberg and that guy with the video Maui mi ti....mex25....hmmmmmmmmm what a crappy property
I really question the motives of some bad posts on the best stay in maui
TravelShan-
We leave in 3 weeks and are staying at the Westin Villas via VRBO. The owner could not have been nicer and we are looking forward to the trip. I will post a full report from HI if possible. If not from HI will do as soon as I get home.
I was there last sept and everything was good - no problems at all. I%26#39;m not an owner there either, nor was I asked to attend a time share presentation. I think anywhere in the complex would be fine - I didn%26#39;t hear any construction the whole time we were there.
I just returned from the Westin Resorts and Spa,a sister property on Kaanaplai beach, next to the Whalers Village. Please be aware that you cannot use the swimming pools at the Westin Resorts %26amp; Spa-contrary to someprevious posts. Whatever it is worth, the Villa also has a pool-not as nice as at the Resort though. The Villa looked nice.
Just got back Jan 2008 and the Westin Villas are nice. Even if you do get a view of the parking lot, so what. How much time will you really spend on your lanai, when there are a million far more interesting things to do. South pool is bursting with kids while the North pool is very relaxed and quiet. Take your pick. We had kids so I liked the south pool. We were never approached once about a timeshare presentation, but the timeshare presence is very visible. Having a washer and dryer in room is a godsend. The reviewer who said that because of the bathroom design you can hear ALL sounds that go on in the bathroom is correct. We had a nice stay there, but it was very windy the entire 6 days we were there. Not the usual tradewinds but gusty winds with flying sand and where I had to tie my beach bag to my foot to keep it from blowing away and anchor everything down. I finally gave up sitting at the beach. I%26#39;m curious to know if it is always that windy. We had a nice stay regardless and I%26#39;m sure you will too.
I knew there were some fans out there-The westin Villas -poolside-wind or no wind-The Villas await in july 08.
I%26#39;m mex25 and i approved this resort
