We like to enjoy the beach and pool in Hawaii, the Resort Quest gets great reviews, has huge rooms, but the pool looks like a 3rd rate pool from a Motel.
Like the look of Surfrider Moana but don%26#39;t like the twin beds, surely there must be a hotel under $500 a night in Waikiki with decent rooms and a decent pool??
Is there????
ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Tower - Pool Crappy??
I stayed there and you are right, the pool is very simple and plain. On the bright side, it was NEVER busy when we were there, no fight to get a lounge chair. We had our kids with us, so it was great, we had the pool to ourselves several times. The hot tub is really HOT, not lukewarm like some places. But it%26#39;s up to you - the property is a condo, not a hotel, so it%26#39;s a trade off of full kitchen and huge room with lanai for a smallish pool. It depends what your priorities are I guess. If you are looking for a resort type of pool, with a party atmosphere, bar nearby...this is NOT it! :)

ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Tower - Pool Crappy??
wanted at least a decent pool, possibly with poolside service would be nice.I suppose you have to go with a smaller room to get a nicer pool.
I%26#39;m not sure the reason but many many of the hotels in Waikiki have smallish pools. Like you said, they look like from an old ';motel';. I was surpised to hear at least one really nice hotel doesn%26#39;t even HAVE a pool (New Otani).
Doesn%26#39;t Hilton Hawaiian Village have a layout of lots of different pools on their property?
WE stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. I know some people don%26#39;t like it because it is so big. We loved it. We paid $280 per night to stay in the Ali%26#39;i tower which has a private pool with drinkside service. There are 4 pools altogher. And the beach at the HHV is awesome. Just don%26#39;t eat there, very expensive.
How were the beds? Were they doubles or queen size??
Is there any construction next to it??
We had a really large room for a family of 4 at the HHV with 2 double beds - gorgeous hotel and grounds, especially the pools!
We also had two double beds, but the room was a nice size. If you decide on the HHV, try to stay in the All%26#39;i tower. Private pool, appetizers for free from 5-7. Free bottled water and coffee and the best part-
it has it%26#39;s own check-in and checkout. No lines. The only bad part was the parking was $25 per day. but according to what I read, most of the hotels are that expensive. Don%26#39;t know if you are going to have a car or not!! Like previous post said, the grounds are beautiful and the four pools were great. Also, again, the beach there is awesome.About a 15 minute walk to center of Waikiki, but we love to walk.
