My Fiancee and I are going to Maui to get married in the firts week of April. It will be just the two of us and we have decided to get married on the beach at the %26#39;Cove%26#39; in Makena. We would like to find a wedding planner or package that would set all this up for us. Does anyone have any suggestions, or great experinces with a certain company? The pictures are very important to me (memories that last forever). Some of the sites I have seen look like they have great profrtional beach shots and some look like the pictures were taken with a disposable camera. does going with a more expensive wedding package generally mean better pictures?
Thanks, Todd

I%26#39;m gong to Maui next week to get married. We went with http://www.justmauied.com. We%26#39;ll see how it goes. They have an inexpensive package that we liked so we chose them. The beaches are public so there is no rental fee.
The photo%26#39;s are one thing that I questioned them on. I told them that I wanted good pictures. The said all their photographers that they use on a regular basis are showcased on their website.
But if the photo%26#39;s are extremely important to you, there are many photographers who live/work in Maui that have websites (do a google search for Maui wedding photography). Pick a wedding planner and just pick a package without pictures and find a photographer you like/feel comfortable with and hire them yourself.
If you want, I can give you a link to the photo%26#39;s we get when we get back...

DS#1 was married on Keawakapu Beach this past October. They used Annointed. JoJo and Neil were very professional and designed the ceremoney to meet their needs perfectly. I highly recommend them.

Aloha Michelle. You may want to check out www.tropicalmauiweddings.com. Their photos look great and they have a range of packages.
Hi Michelle,
I have been looking at weddingsonmaui.com to book for next year and their photos look fab! Best ive find - i like them particularly due to packages. Sheree has been really helpful so far.
Ah a fellow Canadian looking to elope!! My fiancee are also planning to get married in Maui April 9 - April 23. Just the two of us!! We have been looking into the following wedding planners: Presciousmauiweddings.com. They have responded quickly and will customize your package to what you are looking for. Also, Mauidforever.com has been great too! They have even called me to see if I had any questions. It is a bit overwhelming. There are so many to chose from. But as I have been told to try and book quickly since there is nt a lot of time and the selection of ministers and photographers may be limited.
I will watch this thread as I haven%26#39;t been able to chose and would like to hear personal experiences with these companies before I chose.
Good Luck!! :)
We are getting married on March 17 and have been using Beth Helmstetter. www.islandfete.com I looked at a lot of wedding coordinators and figured out that many of them are travel agents/tour operators who figured they would give weddings a try. Some of the packages I saw were ridiculous. Beth has been extremely knowledgeable of local vendors. We are using some that I never would have found on the internet. She has great ideas and most important for us, has been responsive. We have not lost touch with her at any time. My friends tell me how difficult it was to plan their weddings. For us, it couldn%26#39;t be easier. With one month ago, we are twiddling our thumbs waiting to go because everything is done.
The photographers and videographers we considered were miserable. I swear that some just set a camcorder on a tripod and figured that was good enough. My benchmark while watching sample videos was whether I could do it myself. Not a one in Hawaii could cut it. I ended up finding a videographer locally who is truly an artist. He shoots in high definition which makes things especially amazing. Even with his travel costs, he was equal to or just a few dollars more than what I found in Hawaii.
Good luck.
Hi Todd,
My husband and I are renewing our vows in April and the same planners who do weddings do renewals. We have found Pacific Island Weddings (the Grand and 4S use their services). They are wonderful and work with several different photographers. I have my kids with us so we wanted a more ';playful'; photographer for fmaily photos. website: www.mauiisland.com
