Generalized Romping and Snorkeling in South Maui

My DH would like to take a day and drive to So Maui -- have breakfast at one of the nice resorts and then snorkel/goof around. We%26#39;ve read that there is a beach walk similar to the one on Ka%26#39;anapali that strings the resorts together (or some of them).

Any suggestions on parking - breakfast at a resort - snorkeling - the path/beach walk?

We have been to So Maui a few times, but have not focused on the resort/Wailea area - or resort hopping.

Leaving on Saturday morning. Thanks!

So excited for you leaving Saturday. I have said before when I was here beaches were all closed due to high winds. There is a beach path but it isn%26#39;t like Kaanapali. There are no restaurants or stores on it. It is a little more wild looking really, pretty.

The Maui Prince is supposed to be one of the spots they call turtles beach but is in Makena not Wailea. YOu can drive to any resort and they will valet park your car. Just tell them you want to see the resort. They will be glad to do it for a tip. I know the Maui Prince in Makena has a great breakfast buffet again it is not in Wailea but is in South Maui. We did stay at the GW while there but didn%26#39;t have breakfast there. We went to Kihei cafe. But heard they did have a buffet. I am sure you will get other responses too that might have more info.

The beach path is nice but different than Kaanapali.

How about eating breakfast either at the Wailea Beach Marriott or at the Shops at Wailea. After breakfast you can head to the beach walk (very easy to access by walking through the Marriott). Walking south from the Marriott you will pass the Grand Wailea Resort; Four Seasons %26amp; Fairmont. I would think you could park either in the shopping center lot or the Marriott lot.

good suggestions Frenchfry!

If you are driving down from W. Maui the route along the beaches is So. Kehei Rd. Since you can get a high class buffet at any of the fine hotels why not treat yourself to a little local color.

I would make a stop at the Kehei Caffe for breakfast. It%26#39;s across the road from the beach at Kam I or II. A small bistro with great food. Coconut/Mac pancakes are my personal favorite... you do need shoes %26amp; shirt for service. Aloha

Stop at the Kihei Cafe for breakfast. Good food reasonable prices. I would second the parking at the Shops at Wailea. Its free. The beach walk is just as nice as Ka%26#39;anapali, IMHO. Enjoy your trip.

Hmmm. I know it%26#39;s Kihei, sorry! :=%26gt;

There is a public parking lot just past The Renaissance Hotel and before Elua Village. You can hop on the beach path right there, go to your left to The Four Seasons, The Marriott, The Grand Wailea etc. All of them have restuarants where you can eat. Ulua Beach just to your left on the path is one of my favorites for snorkeling.

If you want to snorkel around these resorts, Ulua is the place to do it. As addicted said, there is beach parking.

Kihei Caffe is a great place for breakfast also. It is across the street from Kalama Park on S. Kihei Rd.

Bump -- more comments?

Would Sea Watch be a good place to go for breakfast?
