luau? to do or not to do

please help i cant decide whether or not to do a luau. is it really worth it ? i am not sure. my hubby is more of a steak and potatoes kind of guy and we have been to a few luaus at family events here in california ( i know prob not the same) he seems to enjoy the shows but not soo much the food. please help me decide. i really enjoy the whole luau thing but dont know if it is worth it to pay abt $180 for two people and him still need to go somewhere else to eat after... he did kinda say he might be ready to try some different food though...

luau? to do or not to do

have you ever been to a luau in hawaii?we (my kids and i)have been to hawai 3 times and we%26#39;ve been to one each time.the last time we went to hawaii i was not planning on going to one but my kids almost chopped my head off, they stated ';you cant visit hawaii without going to a luau'; and so we did.

the food is not all that great but it%26#39;s all about the experience, shows are usually nice and the real feel of hawaii is unforgettable.

luau? to do or not to do

My DH and I went twice to the Sheraton Luau. He still raves about the steak and purple potatoes (I really loved the mahi mahi). We enjoy what we consider our island tradition...and we have fun and laugh at the hokie Emcee and like the beautiful costumes and exciting fire dancer. It is held in a beautiful spot and we found it to be a very pleasant and entertaining way to spend an evening.

steak at a luau?my bf would love that!!

If you want the floor show experience, go to the luau. If you want a different experience, try to find a really nice sunset cruise on a sailboat (not a motor boat).

The Feast at Lele is a wonderufl experience and not to be missed.

DH and I have been visiting Hawaii for 25+ years and have never been to a luau. The only one that tempted us was at the Kona Village Resort in Kohala on Big Island. Unfortunately there were no reservations left during the time we were on island when we%26#39;d discovered it.

I%26#39;d prefer a nice dinner on shore at a restaurant with a sunset view over either a luau or a sunset dinner cruise with ';picnic food'; and the possibility of rough seas.

We went to the Hyatt luau with our kids in June. We were not impressed and would not repeat the experience. Michelle

You could always go to the Ulalena show instead of a luau.

thanks everyone i think we may just skip the luau... thank you

The Hyatt%26#39;s ';Drums of the Pacific'; Luau had some really good food... had beef (not steak), pork, chicken, salmon, and spicy poke tuna (yum).
