Napili Bay Markets

We will be staying at Napili Bay Resort and were wondering which market would be closest for us to shop for supplies when we arrive. Also how close to the condo would it be?

Mahalo, Susan

Napili Bay Markets

There is a grocery store in Napili Plaza which would have to be very close to where you are staying (maybe 3-4 minutes away) but we thought the prices were prohibitive. It%26#39;s a known fact that groceries are expensive everywhere on Maui but this store takes it to a whole new level.

I would shop at the Safeway in Lahaina (probably 20 minutes away) or the Star Market in Honokowai (probably 12 minutes away).

Trixxee, you are just a walking Maui encyclopedia!! Love it!!

You should hire yourself out as ';Maui Trip Assistant';.....you know, kind of a Tag Along Helper Person!!

The market in Napili Plaza does have a good selection of fish if you are cooking at home....

';prohibitive'; ?!? Gosh that%26#39;s a bit strong, don%26#39;t you think.

Prices are higher on Maui. Everything has to be brought in. It is what it is. You can waste precious vacation time and gas, chasing all over the place shop at Costco or Safeway just to save a few bucks, or you can build that little extra into your budget, spend the time saved on the beach, and support a local business in the process. In the big scheme of things, unless you are looking for a month%26#39;s worth of groceries for a family of 12, you%26#39;re not talking about that much money anyway. The economy there rises and falls on the tourist dollar. While you are there, make sure the locals get your vacation dollars.

The Napili Market is terrific and will have pretty much everything you need for your stay. While you are in that plaza, stop at Mama%26#39;s Ribs and Rotisserie for some great ribs and chicken dinners. There is also a small general store about a 2 minute walk from your condo for when you run out of Milk or POG.

Yes, prohibitive. To us. Go ahead and shop there if you like. I%26#39;m sure the folks are wonderful and the quality is fantastic. Just too pricey for us when it%26#39;s just as easy to stop at Safeway on the way to our condo or after a drive through Lahaina on another day.

We usually spend at least $350 on grocery/drink items while we%26#39;re there so if we can cut that by using a Safeway card, then I guess that%26#39;s our call, no?

But yes, it%26#39;s handy to have for an quick, gotta have more POG or just ran out of milk for the kids trip.
