Opinions on the Plantation and/or Longhi's, for breakfast.

Wondering about these two places, probably breakfast. I%26#39;m wondering about putting them on my list or not.

Expensive? Worth going to?

Thanks.

Pattie--do you mean Plantation House? If so, we went there for dinner last month, and it was great. Fantastic sweeping view, good service, wonderful food. But pretty expensive. For the money, I%26#39;d rather go there for dinner.

I%26#39;m not sure of the exact name. Someone had posted something about it previously and just said ';The Plantation';. I believe it was in reference to breakfast. Is it by chance at the Kapalua Golf course?

Yes, Plantation House is at the Kapalua golf course, so that%26#39;s it. Again, it%26#39;s kind of spendy, so I%26#39;d suggest a really nice dinner there. I like to keep breakfast more casual. Or maybe Sunday brunch, if they have it?

You are probably right. Unless I read a WOW review on their breakfast, and not a bank breaker, I probably won%26#39;t make it a point to do breakfast there.

Thanks.

Hey,

We had breakfast at the Plantation House in June and loved it. We had crab benedict and really did not think it was overly expensive compared to the other stuff on Maui. It was one of our favorite meals on the trip. As I recall it came with some really well done potatoes. The view is amazing from there. It is on the Plantation Kapalua course off of the same road you would take to get to Flemming Beach. Michelle

Longhi%26#39;s for breakfast ... been there a few times. Good food, but relatively small portions. Popular. Not particularly comfortable. They tend to run out of specials early. I would go to Moose McGiloughcuddy%26#39;s.

Plantation House is one of my very favorite breakfasts. It used to be my mother%26#39;s day treat. Gorgeous views, exceptional food, and, IMO, a good value. You spend the same for breakfast at Denny%26#39;s and PH is 100 times better than any grand slam. Dinner is good there too, though!

One thing to keep in mind pricewise when you go out to breakfast is you probably won%26#39;t be ordering wine or mat tais or what have you like you would if you went for dinner (at least that would be true in our case). No doubt caddyshackman would be ordering bloody mary%26#39;s however. :)

It is much cheaper in the long run for us to go to the nicer restaurants with a view for either breakfast or lunch and then hit a more moderately priced restaurant for dinner.

I guess I%26#39;m putting the place back on my list. The Crab Benedict did it!!!

Had eggs bennie with salmon at Longhi%26#39;s (Wailea) but it%26#39;s been a while. I remember that the eggs were cooked perfectly and not overdone.
