My neighbor told me about 2 things she remembers from Oahu. They didn%26#39;t do much while they were there, but these things stand out in her memory.
Some kind of a ';nut'; farm. (????)
A ';blow hole';. I can%26#39;t place this. Is there one, where is it??
Can%26#39;t even find it mentioned in the Blue Book. Duh.
Thanks.
Whaaaaat! Neighbor told me about 2 things. You sure they were talking about Oahu? I know of a Macadamia nut farm on the BI and Molokai that does tours and there is a blow hole on Maui and Kauai.
Whaaaaat! Neighbor told me about 2 things.Bill, your guess is as good as mine! This neighbor isn%26#39;t too dependable for Hawaii info. I was stumped on this too.
Perhaps someone else here knows something we don%26#39;t know.
When I visited in 1992 there was a kukui nut factory that sold oil, necklaces, etc. up north on Oahu, but it is long closed. Maybe that was what your neighbor remembered?
Maybe the nut farm is ';Da Kine bail bonds.....'; lol.
The blow hole could be what is called the toilet bowl...where water basicly flushes out between waves....but like you said who knows.
There is a blowhole I got video of on Oahu, I just can%26#39;t remember the name. It was toward the beginning of the coastal drive going north. There is a pull out and parking area.
Their is a blowhole on Oahu. It%26#39;s called the Halona Blowhole. It%26#39;s not far from Honolulu, just as you%26#39;re heading east to take a circle tour. I also saw a macadamia nut farm while we were circling the north shore. It was somewhere near Chinaman%26#39;s Hat.
There is a blow hole on O%26#39;ahu. All I ever have known it as smiply, ';The Blow Hole';. Not sure if there is an offical name other than that. It is on the east side of the Island. From Honolulu/Waikiki headed east, it is past Hanauma Bay, right before Sandy Beach. There is a parking lot. I think it is the second parking lot after passing Hanauma Bay. It is a beautiful, winding drive along the cliff. Keep in mind that the blow hole is not always ';blowing';. Depending on the ocean conditions and how the waves are hitting the shore. But either way, it is a beautiful drive.
Sorry, I don%26#39;t know of a nut farm on O%26#39;ahu.
Halona Blowhole already mentioned. Halona cove (From Here To Eternity Beach) is right below the parking lot.
Also Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut Farm Outlet - They do have some macadamia nut trees there %26amp; they have tours. Located near Kualoa Regional Park (Chinaman%26#39;s Hat)
There is another blowhole, Dragon%26#39;s Nostril. It is just off the Makapuu Lighthouse trail.
OK. thanks everyone. I did end up finding it in the Blue Book too. As some of you said, it is the Holona blow hole. Duh! And I%26#39;ve even seen it. I guess it wasn%26#39;t one of those things I could never forget.
I haven%26#39;t seen the mac nut farm, but I%26#39;ll take your word for it as to where it is.
As far as my ';nutty'; neighbor goes, like I said, they didn%26#39;t do much on Oahu, so I guess those were their highlights!
