going to hilo, hawaii for wedding mid february. will probably hop around a bit.

anyone have any suggestions on NICE places to stay, (no dives) must sees, suggested length of time in any particular spot?

In Hilo, check the B%26amp;B listings hear at TA (click on hotels, then select B%26amp;B%26#39;s). Emeraldview always gets raves for the money, but there are several nice ones.

For February, high season, book early to get what you want.

There are MANY existing topics on how to spend time in the area and on the island, suggest you start with reading them and the trip reports ... also use the search bar to look for reviews or mentions of the B%26amp;B%26#39;s that are in the forums (rather than posted in the official reviews).

After you have done some reading, you should have an idea what appeals to you and be ready to ask some more specific questions.

and get a guidebook ... Lonely Planet Big Island is a good overall book; some books are more geared to lodgings and meals and mainstream sights, others are for budget, others are for ecoadventuring, pick a book that suits your needs, but you can%26#39;t go wrong starting out with Lonely Planet in my opinion.
