Luau at Sea Life Park

We are thinking of doing the Luau at Sea Life Park? It has decent reviews on other sites (couldn%26#39;t find any on this one). Has anyone done the Luau there and how was it if you did? Also if you have been to the park without the Luau what did you think of it? I heard it is pretty small, how much time should we plan on taking to go through it?

Luau at Sea Life Park

Never been to the Luau at Sea Life Park but I%26#39;ve been to the park itself to do the Ray Encounter. The park is a joke. We were done with the Ray Encounter and looking at the whole entire park in 2 hours! Everything seem so run down and dirty. Especially the Ray Encounter pool. Water in the pool felt slimy and there was fungus growing on the side. We had the opportunity the snorkel with the ray but I didn%26#39;t dare stick my head in the water.

Go see a Luau else where. Based on the reviews in this forums people voted for Polynesian Culture Center as #1, 2nd is Paradise Cover and #3 Germaine%26#39;s Luau. I went to Germaine%26#39;s and didn%26#39;t like it.

Luau at Sea Life Park

Polynesian Cultural Center is the best Polynesian entertainment in Hawaii.

Sea Life Park is like a small Sea World. If you rate Sea World a 10, Sea Life Park is about a 3.

Don%26#39;t know much about the luau there. Some friends from Australia went there %26amp; said it was OK. They also went to Polynesian Cultural Center %26amp; agree that it is much better than Sea Life Park Luau.

You didn%26#39;t say where you will be staying but nothing at Sea LIfe Park is good. You will be ready to leave in less than an hour. Don%26#39;t waste your time or money. The area around it is beautiful. Take a drive up the coast past it for sure. Lovely drive. PCC is the best luau by far. If you are staying in Honolulu and do not want to drive so far I would pick Germaine%26#39;s.

I really do not know why everyone is condeming Sea Life Park. Yes, it is not a sea world but they have great programs. I took my son last year for the Dophin Encounter and he loved it. The water was very clean (otherwise I would not let him in in it) We went to the back pools, where other reviews said it was disgusting, %26amp;amp; that was also very clean.

We stayed for the Luau and had the best Hawaiian food we have ever had at any commercial Luau. The food is prepared at Sea Life Park. They had the traditional fare of Kalua Pig, Chicken Long Rice, Poi, Haupia, etc. What was exceptional is they also had opihi, lau lau and poke. To any Hawaiian, that is the real food we crave when going to a Luau. In other words $15.99 a lb. easy!

The show is done by Tihati Productions and you have real hula dancers. Both the kahiko %26amp;amp; awana dances are performed. Kahiko - ancient dance. Awana - modern hula.

I was raised in Kahaluu and when we had our luaus, my brothers would hunt the pig, %26amp;amp; dig the imu. They were also responsible to go %26amp;amp; get the opihi. My aunties would be in charge of the bulk of the food. My other family members would bring the extras such as beer, poke, Maui onion w/ Hwn salt, poke, Kulolo, haupia etc

I think it is humerous, that 90% of this forum is from people who live on the mainland who have never been to a real luau!!! They visit once, and have all the answers.
