We will be in Kauai in about a week so it will be too late for the Na Pali coast trip, but Outfitters Kauai has a ';South Shore Sea Kayak'; tour. Has anyone taken this one? is it worth the money when you don%26#39;t have the amazing Na Pali views?
Thanks!
South Shore Sea Kayak trip- is it worth the money?
Aloha from Kaua%26#39;i!
I have been on that particular tour before and I%26#39;d highly recommend it!
If it is still the same route it goes out from Maha%26#39;ulepu and follows the coastline down to Lawai Kai (the beach by the Allerton Gardens) and it is a great way to see green sea turtles and usually some spinner dolphins -- maybe even flying fish!
It was a somewhat easier paddle than Na Pali also!

I did it last December. The water shouldn%26#39;t be as rough in September as it was then (4-5 foot ocean swells). Then, it was recommended you take dramamine (I didn%26#39;t, but I NEVER get seasick). This is not a leisurely paddle down a lazy river. Be prepared to paddle hard, but have a great time. The lunch (turkey wrap or veggie wrap) was great (two wraps, pasta salad, cookies, and soft drings), too. Stops at two beachs (first beach with coffee and quick-bread (banana, I think), longer at the Allerton beach, so you%26#39;ll have time to relax, swim, explore the beach. Then paddle out to the cove entrance to snorkel. Takeout point is at beach just south of Port Allen. I%26#39;ve already reserved for Nov. 8!
