Plate Lunch places near Waikoloa?

Can anybody recommend some good places to get get plate lunches near the Waikoloa Beach area? We%26#39;ll be staying there for a week in October and we%26#39;ll have a car (driving directions might be helpful too! ) We have the most delicious plate lunch stand here in our hometown, and we%26#39;re just dying to experience the real thing in Hawaii!

Plate Lunch places near Waikoloa?

There are a few plate lunch places in a little town called Waimea, which is about 30 minutes Northeast from Waikoloa. There is L%26amp;L Drive In in the Foodland shopping center, or Kamuela Deli in the KTA shopping center. You can also drive in to Kona for Kamuela Deli in the Ross shopping center.

there is also Hawaiian Style cafe ...in Waimea... open till about noon.... just changed hands cant say about the food.$ 7 to 10

In Kona/there is an L%26amp;L and in the Keahou shopping center one kust opened..... they are pretty fast food places its much like a Hawaiian mc donalds.... plates run $6 to $9

Big Island Grill is the premimum plate place $8-9

U-topit has good options, too in Kona

all are 20 to 30 mile drive one way......waikoloa beach is too up-scale for plate lunch

While there are no plate lunch places in the Waikoloa Beach Resort, there are many in Waimea, Kona and Hilo. Check out konaforum.com for the restaurant reviews.
