Honolulu Zoo

Just after anyone%26#39;s thoughts - is it worth a visit (for adults), is the night tour any good? Thanks!

Honolulu Zoo

do u not have zoos in your part of the world. i say skip it, and go for a swim!

Honolulu Zoo

Roosta: It%26#39;s a smaller zoo, and I go each time I stay on Oahu. The last time I was on Oahu (2 yrs ago), I stayed in a hotel which overlook the zoo, and we woke up each morning to the sounds of the animals (especially the primates).

In the four times that I%26#39;ve visited the zoo, there seems always to be some sort of renovation work going on, so there is the possibility that a certain part of the zoo grounds could be closed off.

All in all, neither a great zoo nor a dismal one. A nice diversion in the busy Waikiki world.

We were planning to take two babies in strollers to this zoo. I heard they had a new baby animal part of the zoo.

We liked the zoo. It isn%26#39;t San Francisco, but we wanted to see the Komodo Dragon (which turned out to be a young one - small ... could be much larger now.)

Anyway, I think kids would enjoy it. Bring insect repellent .

Its just a nice little zoo in a nice atmosphere, great for little kids. Makes a for a good scenic walk in the morning, but it is not something to get too excited about

We took our 5 kids there last April and we took them 3 year before that. It is not expensive to get in, I think about $9 for an adult and I think it%26#39;s a lovely little Zoo. It%26#39;s very scenic and green and lush and they have some great animals. It%26#39;s just nice for a stroll around for a couple of hours and there is lots of shades and good photo oppurtunities of Diamond Head too.

If you have a spare few hours and want to chill out and relax, I would go.

We saw a lot of adults without kids there.

Have fun :)

The Honolulu Zoo is a very pleasant diversion for a few hours. I am sure Oz has beaches as well.

One of the nice things about the Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium...

Is that you can see all the exhibits in just a few hours. They are pleasant, compact and easy to move through. Unlike the San Diego Zoo and similar attractions where even if you spend all day you cannot see everything.

If I were you,I wouldskip the Zoo-it is not just small, unkempt, empty cages, poor display-I was there last week, and wasvery disappointed. The Aquarium on the other hand is worth visiting-it is alsosmall, but very well organized. Also, it is in the Kapiolani Park, nice viewof the beach, and the park.If youwork out the time, have ameal at the Hau Tree Lanai, at the New Otani Hotel, you will eat under the Hau tree over looking the ocean-the sunset is gorgeous.Good luck,

Discover, be careful about bringing your two babies in a stroller. One of the people posting said something about bug repellent. The zoo is very humid and there are alot of mosquitos there. I would not bring babies there as they would be bit mercilessly.

My son got bit in several locations, arms, legs and developed huge red welts. Poor boy, his blood must have been tasty!

Your babies will probably not remember anything about the zoo so I would avoid going there.

Once we went after it rained and the place got very muddy, not good for strollers.

The aquarium on the other hand is great! Not huge but interesting enough. Very well put together.
