Royal Kahana Resort

I have heard that the noise is pretty disturbing during the day at the Mahana so I have been trying to find another resort. Seeing that we will be arriving in Maui on April 5th I do not have much time or many choices at this late date.I was able to get a pretty good rate today for a two bedroom condo at the Royal Kahana. Has anyone stayed here and does anyone know how far this is from Lahaina. Would you recommend it? Thanks

Royal Kahana Resort

Aloha Miz,

If this resort is in the price range your looking for then I would definately reccommend it..This property is actually located in Lahaina on Lower Honoapiilani (Highway 30) On the Northwest side of the Island Close to Kapalua. If you follow Highway 30 toward Kaanapali it should be at the most 7-10 minute drive to Kaanapali Beach and Whalers Village in Lahaina.

I have not stayed here, but I have visited this property on a tour that we took. And it is in a good location. Its Beach Location is great too...You can literally look right out of your room and see the neighboring Islands of Molokai and lanai in the distance, and during the winter months you can see the whales breaching until mid april depending on the season.

Plus with this being a Condominium property all of the rooms have a full kitchen with all kitchen supplies : 4 burners, eating utensils, pots, pans, and my favorite a washer/dryer unit, property also has a large oceanfront pool, barbecue area, two lighted tennis courts, fitness center and saunas.

There is also an activities desk on property where you can secure information about shopping and dining around the island as well as make reservations for luaus, sightseeing tours and other activities

I hope I have helped you some... Have a Great trip....Also when i went I went through orbitz.com They have a great Hawaii Specialist group that can give you all kinds of good reccommendations.

Royal Kahana Resort

We%26#39;ve stayed next door at the Hololani 3 times and I visited a friend who was staying at the RK in a 3 bedroom unit. They had a gorgeous view with a lanai that wraped around the northwest side of the building. I have also seen units where you would be seeing more of your next door neighbor than the ocean view. So check on that. It%26#39;s not the best beach because it is narrow and in some places rocky but you can usually swim there and even snorkel just not after a heavy rain. I%26#39;m told they are doing construction work next door at the Hololani so do also ask about this. It may not bug you at all. It is about a 10 minute drive from Lahaina and maybe another 5 minutes to find parking. I think it is a good choice as their units are pretty big.

We stayed here with our three teen children 3 years ago. Of all my trips to Maui, this condo had the BEST view and spaciousness of any. We had a two BDR with a wrap around lanai, corner oceanfront unit. Very well furnished, the pool was decent, the staff very helpful, we booked several activities with the conceirge there and got some freebies from her. The beach was good and parking was never a problem. I would stay here again.

A few years back (maybe 5) we stayed at the Royal Kahana as well. In our party, we had two, one bedroom condos and one, two bedroom condo. The two bedroom was much like the previous poster described, it was on a higher floor, ocean front, wrap around lanai, awesome views! We all went to the two bedroom unit each day for breakfast. I would go back without hesitation. my 2 cents anyway...

I stayed there 5 yrs ago. it was a bit tired then but sort of a gentle Hawaiian tired. It is a great location on the backside of Blackrock which is a great snorkel or night dive. I would think that if you don%26#39;t need/want the latest whizbang thing amenity and it is your price range jump in. you will be right on the beach, down a walk from whalers village, very nice place to stay.

Please disregard my review above for Royal Kahana. You should substitute Royal Lahaina instead. Sorry for the error.

We have reserv for 5 nites at the ResortQuest Mahana at Kaanapali. Is this the resort that has the noise. I have not heard about this issue. Is it construction noise during the day? Can you give me any more info on this issue. Thanks so much.

Hi I received information this week about the Mahana. The lady told me that the building of the new complex behind the Mahana is quite noisy....there is constant dumping of dirt and the beep beep of the trucks backing up. She also said the renovation in the pool area is still not finished. I am going April 5th so I am trying to find another 2-bedroom oceanfront condo for 4 people. Not having much luck at this late date.

Aloha Miz,

There are several two-bedroom properties in maui, but the availability is getting pretty tight. Here are a few that I have found. I figured u would need a car and usually your betting booking a package. On Orbitz.com right now here a few nice condo%26#39;s. And I was not sure about how many days, I just assumed 7 nights

4 Star ..Kapalua Villas Hotel + Car package cost: $394 per night ($2,757 Total) Fairway View 2 bedroom

4 Star ..Destination Resorts Hawaii Hotel + Car package cost: $360 per night ($2,521 Total) Ocean View 2 bedroom.

Everything else was either way way more or unavailable.

Good Luck...

P.S. Orbitz.com is who I traveled to Hawaii with last time and they offer a great Hawaii Specialist program with agents who have been to the Islands before.

We have stayed at the RK in the past and are staying there again this year. I like the pool location, adjacent to the beach and the layout of the building and the views. A couple years ago we looked at one of the two bedrooms in the front with the wrap around deck... it was a nice unit and very roomy. As with any independantly owned property I would get as many pictures as possible so you can see what you are renting. Be sure to try Honokowai Okazuya %26amp; Deli right down the street.....
