Volcano lover - but I only have one day

Hello - is it possible to fly from Honolulu to the BI and do a volcano helicopter flight in one day? I have limited time. Is there one company that is more reputable than the rest? I realise there are many other things to see on the BI ... but I only have a day!

You can do it easily in one day, you will even have time to do a little more sightseeing too. Fly to Hilo.

you can, but you have no guarantee there will be any lava visibility on any specific day. You also have no guarantee the helo flights will be a go, because they do get canceled for unfavorable weather.

So basically it%26#39;s a gamble if you decide to pre-pay and not do it on the fly.

You could go on a tour and not see much, and you could arrive only to find the tour can%26#39;t fly. Or you will get what you%26#39;re hoping for ... but no one can predict which in advance.

Fly to kona and take the 2 hour circle

I THINK Dan made a typo and meant to say flights out of Hilo get canceled (true) and flights out of Kona more sure thing, but I%26#39;ll let Dan confirm.
