anyone flying (or have flown) Southwest/ATA to Kauai?

We are flying New Orleans to Oakland then Oakland to Kauai in April. (yippy). Has anyone else used Southwest/ATA combo? Advice? opinions?

Thanks!

I have done the ATA portion a few times. First of all ATA is definitely a no frills airline. No pillow or blankets unless you ';buy'; them. Both times I flew the headsets/movie didn%26#39;t work. Both times they were late flying out of OAK but on time leaving LIH. There are plenty of places to eat at the airport. In the SW section they added a lot of eating spots.

I will continue to use them if I have to (free), but leaving late out of OAK to LIH makes for a very late night driving to the Princeville area. Xmas time we arrived at 1 am.

we are going to Poipu. Is there a late place to buy a few provisions for the AM? My husband to be needs his diet coke in the AM.

There is a Walmart about a mile from the Lihue airport that I believe may be open 24 hrs, but you may want to check.

Walmart is not open 24 hours....

I flew ATA a year ago from OAK to LIH without any hitches...in fact, the plane looked brand new to me.

if you%26#39;re desperate for shopping after 10 PM (I think that%26#39;s when Walmart closes but don%26#39;t count on it), you can go north of the airport about 6 miles to the Kapaa safeway. It is 24 hrs. but you can%26#39;t buy alcohol after 11 pm.

might be easier to hit the soda machine in the baggage reclaim area and wait for morning.

even quick-stopish/convenience stores?

?

I flew them last September on my first trip to Kauai.....The price was right and they are the only airline who fly to Kauai nonstop from Oakland........Red eye flight back home.....No frills or food, but I will fly the again when I return this September. Kauai Rules.
