taxi or pre arranged shuttle, parking garage?

We are a group of extended family (14) traveling to Waikiki for a week. I will be renting a car and arrviing early and staying at the Ko Olina and then to Waikiki for 7 nights to join up with everyone at the Beach Walk..

The price to valet is $25.00 a day at the Wyndam Beach Walk, does any one know of a garage nearby that would be cheaper? We want to have a car to use through out the stay for various errands, etc.

Part of the group arrives in HNL on Friday and has 9 adults. Too many to pick up in the rental car with luggage and golf bags.

Do you think it would be cheaper to take a pre arranaged shuttle or a taxi? Any shuttle companies you suggest?

Also does anyone know of a good surf instructor for first timers?

Given the size of the group -- having a car on hand may be worth the $25 per day. A little back-up insurance. Are you the only driver?

When the rest of your party arrives, just have them grab their bags, hop (OK, walk) out to the curb, and pile into taxis. There are lots of taxis available -- some are limo or van size. Cost is about $30 per car. Maybe some extra tip for all the bags. Trying to ferry everyone will make you crazy.

We have decided to get two cars, because of the size of the group, still some will have to taxi it in.

I have heard mention that Fort De Russy has a parking garage, I%26#39;m trying to get information if that is true and do you have to be military?

With two cars, that will be very expensive parking at $50.00 a day, so I would like to find another garage near by.

We plan on going in and out of Waikiki half the time and feel rental cars will be easier and cheaper, except for the parking!!

I don%26#39;t mind walking a few bolcks to retrive one of the cars. Does any one know of any other overnight parking in the area?

There is another thing you can do -- and you%26#39;ll need to run the math. Return your car in Wakiki - and then just rent a car as you need it. There are rental cars not too far from you at the Hyatt - 3 or 4 major companies. Your concierge may also be able to help you get a car when you need it. Or maybe a mini-van ...

14 people! I hope YOU have time to relax and have a good time, too!

Rent the cars the entire time. You can see the island much better with a car. By the time you would pay for airport shuttles or cabs %26amp; other transportation you will not have saved any $$ anyway.

There are several good surf instructors along Waikiki Beach.

Lots of Oahu info:
