We will be in Maui in Oct and BF would like to fish from shore but was wondering where (on coral or not), good fishing spots and what kind of rigs or bait do you use and if you need bait where to buy it and is there a better time of the day? We are from the east coast so he is use to a sandy bottom. We are staying in Honokowai.

Fishing from shore??Thanks for the info and we are chartering a shared boat but he was looking for more info on the five days before the boat trip. I like to lay in the sun and he likes to watch the fishing pole at the beach. Can you fish from any beach area? The site i was directed to did not not say either way.
