Has anyone taken the Pearl Harbor/Honolulu DUCK tour? Did you enjoy it? Was there enough time to visit the Arizona memorial, etc.?
Thanks for any input on this experience.
Pearl Harbor/Honolulu DUCK Tour
MissusT: Aloha! Yes, we did this tour 1 1/2 years ago with Duck Tours. It was a blast. The guys are fun, and while you need to be sure to slather on plenty of sunblock, especially if you don%26#39;t happen to be lucky enough to snag one of the seats under the canopy, it%26#39;s a lot of fun and pretty unique to ride around (even up on the highway, and into the water) in a WWII-era vehicle.
They time themselves pretty well, giving you enough time to get over to the Arizona... since there was a fairly long wait for our group, we even had time to walk over and visit the submarine Bowfin and the sub museum. Depending on how long your wait is, you may also be able to squeeze in a visit over to the battleship Missouri, but that may be risky.
They kind of have the groups timed just right, so everything runs pretty smoothly. You just want to make sure that you don%26#39;t dawdle after the trip over to the Arizona, %26#39;cuz when the driver on the Duck tour says it%26#39;ll leave at a certain time.... it leaves! (as an aside, you%26#39;ll also want to make sure that you get PRECISE pickup instructions from them when you reserve ... there were two people who didn%26#39;t get picked up because they were in the wrong spot).
All in all, we thought that, even though it%26#39;s a ';touristy'; thing to do, it was worth the money. Oh, and make sure you tip something at the end, when you%26#39;re let off at your hote/stop .... it wasn%26#39;t pretty when one group of five hopped off and booked.
Have a great time.
