Blue tile beach house

Has anyone from TA stayed at this Bed %26amp; Breakfast in Paia?

We%26#39;ve made reservations for Sepember in the downstairs ocean front suite.Has anyone stayed in this particular room? I read reviews on the site and they are mixed. It looks like a great place to stay and the beach is very close.

Thank you and hope I get some feed back on the room %26amp; BB

We too booked the upstairs ocean front suite for March 2008(downstairs looks nicer, but I thought it might be more private being upstairs)...so be sure to leave a review when you get back...

Past user reviews [mostly from 2005] on TA at

tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g60636-d2477…

Since both are in the same wing they do feel private. The ground floor beachfront suite is one of the most popular rooms, esp. for couples and honeymooners ... we enjoyed how airy it was and with all those windows and sliding glass doors facing the ocean - very bright. Such an amazing view of the lawn, palm trees, beach to one side and Tavares Bay and out to the ocean. Also had a fair to good quality queen bed. The private bathroom is just a shower stall; plus it is nice to have your own kitchenette, even has granite counters. You have a private lanai too and access to a sauna and whirlpool tub.

Upstairs is spectacular too, higher up so different view and the oval doorways and that luxury bathroom with the oval blue tiled shower was cool; felt great - we love surround water coming from all directions, but may not be best for water conservation since Maui is in a drought right now.

LinakaJoy,

Is the sauna and whirlppol tub off the room itself? The website for the B%26amp;B doesn%26#39;t mention the sauna and whirlpool in the room description. I didn%26#39;t know about that, it sounds great! When you say whirlpool tub, is that a double bathtub with jets?

O.K I%26#39;m wondering one more thing. Since the room down stairs has so many windows, and there is the grass area to the side and front of the room-is that a private grass area for that room or do the other guests use the lawn directly to the side and front of the room as well?

Thanks

Lawn area just off your lanai is set up to be private to you. The trees give you a good protective feel. But it does connect with longer section of lawn in front of the back L-part of the rest of the house. You can see that on their web site%26#39;s aerial view - you can tell these 2 suites sort of jut out away from the back sections of the house. There is access from others on property since they may cross part of the lawn to get to the beach, but no one really violated the privacy. No one was upstairs so other guests were in the other wing ... their entrance / exits for coming and going into property are in different area. But folks on the beach could see you if on the lawn or on your lanai.

I have a ? about your post on Skyline - since ATVs are right there. Do your hear those gosh-awful motor sounds when you are waiting for your zip. How about when you are trekking along from zip to zip or on the swinging bridge. That might detract considerably from the enjoyment if you have to listen to ATVs too. Would much prefer morning quiet, birdsong, etc.

Yes, we heard the sounds of the ATV. In fact while walking up the trail to get to the first zipline, we had to move aside to let the ATV people pass while they were driving. I agree, it was distracting from the outdoor sounds and quiet of the morning.

Could you explain about the sauna and jacuzzi? Is it off the room inside or outside? Is the jacuzzi like a bathtub jacuzzi for two with jets or above the ground?
