Hotel recommendations for 2 nights only

Need some recommendations for a hotel for 2 nights. We arrive late the first night (after 8:00 p.m.). We are meeting extended family for a week and due to airline miles we are arriving 2 days earlier than the rest of the group.

Not looking for a luxury resort, just a basic, clean, family friendly and affordable. Thanks in advance.

What part of the island? Since you arrive so late in the evening, you may be best off in S. Kihei. How affordable? How many in your party?

Doesn%26#39;t really matter. Would like to be close to the airport since we arrive late, but willing to go farther for something better. We will eventually be staying in the Kaanapali area. The first night it will just be my son and I, the 2nd night we will be adding my wife and daughter.

Oh yeah - Looking for $200-$300 a night. Would love something less, but who wouldn%26#39;t.

Kaanapali Beach Hotel.... basic, clean, convenient, and right on the best part of the beach.

Try check out Maui Coast Hotel in Kihei. Moderate hotel but clean with half way decent pool and access to grinds.

Many places have a 3 night minimum stay. We are staying our first two nights at the Peace of Maui just out of Makawao, in up country. Did research and we wanted a close start for drive to Hana and close to airport since we are arriving at 5pm. It is highly rated for clean family stay . Frommers book says it is one of the best little deals on the island. 30 minutes from airport and 10 mins. from a beach.Neat shopping at Paia close by.Go to peaceofmaui.com Afamily lives there with one child upstairs.

LinakaJoy on this forum says she stays there often and the owners are great. And a great budget place.

Thanks for the info. I%26#39;ll check them out.

I believe you could stay at either Maui Coast Hotel or Best Western Maui Oceanfront Inn for 2 nights only. Maui Coast nicer hotel (airline personnel stay there alot); Best Western cheaper--clean but very small rooms. Both nice locations for South Maui and will be an easy drive your first night.

Aloha!

Agree with others...Maui Coast...decent three star place, well located, clean, nice staff.
