Weather on Kauai this month?

Going to Kauai on February 23 for 2 weeks. Staying at the Grand Hyatt. Is there a website that I can check on with updated weather forecasts?

Weather on Kauai this month?

Try:

www.kauaiworld.com ( Garden Island Newspaper )

search: kauai explorer.com ( up to date surf and ocean conditions and note any warnings posted, and safe beaches to swim. ) 9am..updated.

When on island, the week day morning news channels from oahu will also help you to know what is forcast....

I like Ch 4....they are reporting on the 4%26#39;s. There are three other channels to catch also.

Big tip: looking out the window helps a whole bunch.

Also: Two phone numbers

Ocean conditions: (808) 245 3564

Hawaiian Waters: (808) 245-6001

Hopefully this will be helpful.

That 808 245-6001 is the weather forcast...

Regardless, you have a lot of informatiion as how to check on the weather.

Just a suggestion, do not obsess on this. You cannot change it, and the reports of rain that you see, might not be happening on the south shore.

Relax a little, or you will be stressed out every day until you arrive. Easy does it, OK ?

Weather in Hawai%26#39;i may seem relatively ';the same everyday'; to those of us from the more temperate climates where the temperature can drop 50 degrees in hours. However, as a weather geek, after years of visiting the islands, I have come to realize that the weather can be just as changeable and difficult to predict in Hawai%26#39;i.

After checking the many sources of weather forecasts on the internet, two have stood out as the most accurate and detailed. Hawaiiweathertoday.com uses the National Weather Service forecast in a user friendly format. Just click on the island you are visiting, and then on the part of the island you will be visiting. Realize that they will display a temperature range with the warmest being at sea level at the beach and the coolest up at higher elevations. Also, even on the sunniest days they will often list a ';20% chance of isolated showers';. This still means the day will still most likely not have rain, but a brief shower is a slight possibility is some part of the whole forecast region.

Now for us weather geeks you may want to go directly to the source at NOAA%26#39;s National Weather Service site:

www.nws.noaa.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=hnl

In the upper left corner you will see a little white box where you can enter the city for which you want the forecast. Then on the page that pops up will have the 7 day forecast and at the bottom right corner you will see a map of the island, on which you can click any spot on the island and get a forecast for that particular location. Also, if you are interested, this site has more climate statistics, averages and info than even I need.

Don%26#39;t bother checking until 1 week before you are going, and realize that forecast for the next day or two is much more accurate than the one for 7 days out.

I have not found the forecasts on weather.com or accuweather.com to be as accurate as the NWS.
