June Honeymoon

Looking to relax on the islands of Kauai, IOH and/or Maui. Being in June, we are looking to avoid family hotspots and focus on hotels that focus on couples. No kids menus, no kids clubs, etc. This is hard to find in Hawaii, since the same places that have family packages also push their ';romantic getaways.'; How are those two supposed to coincide with one another? It%26#39;s like a bad episode of the Odd Couple. We would also like to avoid a huge place that caters to business conventions. This is a honeymoon, not a free corporate reward trip. Any constructive ideas would be welcome.

June Honeymoon

I have been to both Maui and Kauai and I think Maui is a better honeymoon spot. If you like hiking and plan on doing a lot of daytrips then Kauai is for you. If you just want to lie on the beach and do nothing, Maui is the place. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton and it was amazing. The food, service, beach and pool. We did not run in to many kids there at all, but then again it was September when we went.

June Honeymoon

Check out Hotel Hana-Maui. It is very remote but very couple oriented. I would split my stay between there and a bed and breakfast like Hooilo House on the other side of the island for a well rounded visit. If you decide on Kauai - stay up north in June. There are lots of gorgeous condos up north (such as Puu Poa) as well as the Princeville Resort. The Princeville may be undergoing some renovations then, so you might want to check on that. Have fun!

Goodness! - i just realized the original post was from 2005 - good grief!
