Whale watching tours

Hello all,

I will be in Maui during the beginning of whale watch season, I would like to take a tour but not sure which would give me a better view of the whales.

I have heard of kayaking and catamarans ....... has anybody done these and could say which was the better whale watching experienceand also recommend a company

Or if anybody has done a different excursion that was a good experience.

Thanks

I%26#39;m interested in some excursion recommendations, too... but I%26#39;m not as adventurous as fatcat %26amp; looking for something larger than a kayak!

We will be there early January.

Whale watching tours

We took a Whale atching tour fromthe outfit right in front of Westin on Kaanapali Beach-it was great-saw several Whales, also Dolphins. We were so close, there was part ofits fin was missing!

Thanks alumnus ......

What type of craft was it ... catamaran, regular boat ?

hello all,

Does anybody have any companies that they could recommend ?

It was a Catamaran-pretty big,with soft drinks,snacka, forfree.

It was probably Triology. They have sizeable catamarans and leave from Ka%26#39;anapali. We took them whale watching last year and had a geat time. We%26#39;ve also taken them for an all-day trip to Lanai - excellent. Look up their website. There is a discount if you book on-line.

Do you want to snorkel while you are whale watching? If so try Trilogy or Paragon. These are catamarans. Stay away from the Pacific Whale Foundation boats. They have masses of people on them. It%26#39;s hard to see a whale when you have tons of people on board. There are lots of different boats you can take. Just google Maui whale watching trips and take your pick. Almost all of them are catamarans.

Thanks to all.......

I am google-ing paragon and trilogy as we speak

thanks for the heads up about pacific whale ... i was just looking at there site.

When does whale siting season start? We will be there Nov 18-dec 1st. is that too early?

Thanks

Marjorie

In my opinion, Pacific Whale Foundation is right up there if not the best. Very knowledgeable crew and we%26#39;ve seen lots of whales and different whale activities each time we%26#39;ve gone with them. I believe that they are also sincere in their research activities.
