Activities in Maui

Hi - Just booked a trip for our 10 year anniv. Staying at the Westin Villas. Does anyone have any info on Kite Surfing or on a zipline?

Thanks!

Activities in Maui

Hi! We%26#39;re going for our 5 year anniv. this year! I booked us on a zipline tour with Skyline Eco Adventures (www. skylinehawaii.com).

They offer a Kaanapali zipline tour which cost us $281 for 2 adults. Their 2nd tour is on Haleakala and is cheaper, but I don%26#39;t know how much. The Kaanapali does a breakfast for the 2 am tours (7 and 8) and a lunch for the 11 am and noon tours. I believe Kaanapali might also have 2 more zips than Haleakala for 8 total?

Hope that helped -- book early! We are going in May and they were all full the first time I checked for times during our 3 day stay. Something opened up a couple weeks later.

We did the zipline in January 07 with Skyline. We loved it. Our guide Dane or Dale was great. Sense of humor, very safe and professional. At the time they only had one zip location at Kula. They were getting ready to open another in Lahaina that was supposed to be bigger, higher and longer. I would do it again. Our time was only 1.5 hours long, not strenuous. And you get to drive to Kula, beautiful ride from West Maui. We went to the Kula Botanical garden afterwards. There are many other things to do. Haleakala State park is right there and you are not far from the crater, so you can make an entire day starting with the zip line.

When reserving the different activities, such as ziplining, luau%26#39;s, Warren %26amp; Annabelles, etc. - is it normal for these places to charge your credit card up front, even though you aren%26#39;t going to be there until May?

We did the original Skyline zip near Kula in 2005 and it was a blast. Ordered tix online and paid about 60 pp. They have the new bigger one in West Maui and there%26#39;s also one offered by Kapalua Adventures that I think we%26#39;re going to do in October.

My boyfriend and I did the Kaanapali zipline just last October. It was on my b/fs 35 bday and we loved every min.

It does cost more but if staying near Kaanapali then difently worth it to save the drive and have more zips.

There are 8 zips on the Kaanapali tour which is why it%26#39;s more, but again Worth every penny. . best time we had on our trip!

Want to do it again when our kids are older :-)

I thnk i even still have some video on my profile of our zips

There is also ziplining in Kapalua, different company. Put zipling in under topics and there is some great info available. We are trying Kapalua in July. They have been great with response emails with questions.

I think it is normal for some places yes. For the Skyline zipline reservation, they already charged our card and took out the money.

For Feast at Lele, they took our card number to hold, but haven%26#39;t charged yet.

And we%26#39;re doing Kauai too -- I believe that both the helicopter tour and the Na Pali coast tour took card numbers, but no charges yet.

Just read the different cancellation policies (or ask them) and make sure you%26#39;re comfortable with how reservations work.
