Snorkel Bobs - Do I need to reserve?

Hi all,

Just wondering if I need to reserve in advance for 2 Snorkel Gear rentals with Snorkel Bobs? Will they have enough variety available if we don%26#39;t?

Would like to hear what you normally do!

Thanks,

Snorkel Bobs - Do I need to reserve?

I always take my friends here when they visit and we have never (even in the summer) had to reserve. They have a huge supply.

I have mever had a problem and I need a Rx mask. However I think if you reserve or pay or something ahead of time on via the web site you get some freebies.

Get some help from the personnel who work there.

1. Test mask and see if it fits your face. Let the strap just dangle clear of the mask and holding the mask in place, inhale thru your nose. Let go of the mask. It should stay in place without you holding on to it. When you are about to run out air, remember to hold on to the mask so it does not bound off snorkel bobs floor.

This test will show if it fits your face, and also that it does not leak.

2. Check the mouth piece to make sure it fits your mouth properly. They have different sizes, and can swap them out, or give you a different mask and snorkel.

3. Make sure the fins fit your feet snugly, and will not fall off when in the water.

What we normally did as visitors:

We purchased our own quality mask and snorkels from professional dive shops, and brought them with us.

We rented fins only. Lasted for years.

Check with snorkel bob, as they have lower as well as higher quality snorkle gear. Ask about the difference.

Also , see if they have a pub on proper snorkeling and tips about ocean safety. I used to have a really great book that snorkel bob wrote, that had me ROTFLMOO ( rolling on the floor laughing my okole off ). Had scoops on snorkel sites on all the major islands, and lots of local knowledge.

Now we live here and use our own dive gear that we have in a dive bag that can be carried like a back pack, or by hand. But, please note , we use this same equipment for SCUBA diving, and that would be way overkill for just snorkeling on a quick visit.

I do not believe you will need to reserve ahead of time, but you might want to get there early before all of the thundering herds are getting outfitted.

We always rent our gear from Snorkel Bob%26#39;s. Great people there with lots of advice. I usually get the RX package and my husband gets the ';Ultimate Truth'; one. I highly recommend this place for quality and service. We have never had a problem with them running out - they are very well stocked. As far as purchasing the equipment - we don%26#39;t because there really isn%26#39;t any good snorkeling here in Michigan - and I can%26#39;t see lugging it across the country. Here is there website and I have found coupons before so keep your eye open! http://snorkelbob.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/sbservices_packages.html?L+scstore+dbcb4881ffcf7fcf+1236833995

Aloha and have fun!

I also forgot to mention that if you are doing more than one island, you can return your gear to another island!
