Does anyone know if you can use your debit cards at the restaurants and for shopping in Hawaii. thanks

I used mine last summer with no problems, and there aren%26#39;t any branches of my bank in Hawaii.

I have a Wachovia ATM/Visa debit card and it works in ATMs with the PIN and also at the supermarkets with or without the PIN. I don%26#39;t use it in places that don%26#39;t just let me swipe the card thru a reader (ie I don%26#39;t hand it over in a restaurant) because the consumer protections are better with a credit card in case the card number is stolen.

I%26#39;ve used mine at the ABC Stores.

Mine worked almost too well!!!

Not to be rude, but why wouldn%26#39;t a debit card work just like it does anyplace else in the country?

Well it doesn%26#39;t work the same. Some stores won%26#39;t allow ';cash back'; for one thing.
